How to do Sedu Hairstyles

In years past, women of all ages have used many different types of equipment and products to create beautiful, feminine hairstyles. Some of the equipment and products was limited to use in a hair salon as it was either way beyond the scope and knowledge of the average person or else it was something that was specifically used in what was then called a “beauty parlor”.

In the 1930s and 40s, wavy and curly hair was “in”. Women with straight hair went thru torturous processes getting their hair curled. This was know as having a “permanent wave” or a “permanent”, later shortened to having your hair “permed”.

The salon operator would cut your hair fairly short and apply some foul liquids that smelled like rotten eggs to your hair. The next step in the process was to wind very small rollers around your hair that were hooked up to a set of wires on a stand that was plugged into an electrical outlet. Depending upon the straightness of your hair, you would sit, attached to this contraption, for 45 minutes to an hour. If a fire ever broke out, a catastrophe would result.

The operator would “check your hair” every so often to see if you were done yet. Finally, the curlers were removed and your hair was washed and conditioned. The operator would then apply rollers to your hair and you were made to sit under a hair dryer which was a large metallic hood with usually uncomfortably hot air whirling about your ears and scalp. After another 45 minutes to an hour, the ordeal was over and your hair was combed out. Hopefully, your hair would remain curly for several months – hence the phrase “permanent”.

As time went by, this contraption was retired from the beauty scene. In the 50s and 60s, salon perms still required the rotten egg solution and rollers but the time needed to have your hair permed was considerably shortened. Additionally, women could do the job at home with home permanent kits – which worked for some but not for others.

The 1970s brought new hair freedom to women as they could wear their hair in a number of styles that did not require forcing their locks into unnatural styles. Long, straight, loose hair was the rage.

Since that era, women have been able to choose how they wish to wear their hair with no one style being the style that “everyone” is wearing. Sedu hairstyles have been popular for the past few years and the Sedu hair irons allow women to create lovely hairstyles with very little effort in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Instructions come with the hair iron explaining how to do Sedu hairstyles.

There are many Sedu hairstyles from which to choose. In order to obtain optimal beauty from your Sedu hairstyle, you should keep your hair in good, healthy condition and use a hair conditioner often. If your hair is unhealthy, it will tend to become dry when a Sedu hair iron is used. Another factor in how to do Sedu hairstyles involves setting the temperature of the hair iron correctly. The Sedu hair iron has a temperature range which will allow you to set the heating plates to the specific temperature appropriate for your type of hair. When you have followed this advice on how to do Sedu hairstyles and have read the simple instructions, you should be able to create several lovely hairstyles.
